2. The cookies I use

I use two categories of cookie on this website. ‍

Consent Required?: No — these are used automatically and cannot be switched off without affecting how the site works

  • Analytics:

Purpose: Help me understand, in general terms, how visitors use the site — for example, which pages are viewed and roughly how many people visit — so I can improve it.

Consent Required?: Yes — these are only set if you accept them via the cookie banner.

‍‍I do not use cookies for advertising or third-party marketing tracking on this website.

3. Where these cookies come from

Necessary cookies on this site are set by Squarespace, the platform this website is built and hosted on, as part of its standard site functionality.

‍Analytics cookies on this site come from two sources, both only set if you accept analytics cookies via the banner:‍ ‍

  • Squarespace's own built-in site analytics — general visit and page-view data used to understand how the site performs.

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4) — a more detailed analytics service I use to understand visitor behaviour, such as which pages are viewed, how long visitors stay, what device or browser they're using, and roughly how visitors found the site (for example, via search or a social media link).

‍Google Analytics uses cookies typically named _ga and _ga_[container ID]. These do not identify you by name. For visitors in the EU, EEA and UK, Google Analytics does not log or store individual IP addresses. IP information is used temporarily to derive coarse geographic information before being discarded.

‍Data collected through Google Analytics is processed by Google. Depending on your location, this may be Google Ireland Limited or Google LLC. Where information is processed outside the European Economic Area, Google relies on the safeguards available under applicable data-protection law, including the EU-US Data Privacy Framework, of which Google is a certified participant. ‍If you'd prefer Google Analytics not to track your visits across other websites, Google provides a browser add-on to opt out, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout — this works independently of, and in addition to, the cookie banner on this site.

4. Managing your cookie choices

‍ When you first visit this website, a cookie banner gives you the option to accept or decline non-essential (analytics) cookies. Necessary cookies are used regardless, as the site cannot function properly without them.

You can change your mind at any time using the Cookie Preferences link in the website footer.

If you don't make a choice, or if you clear your browser's cookies, you'll be shown the banner again — Squarespace's default is to re-prompt after 30 days.

You can also control or delete cookies directly through your browser's own settings. Doing so may affect how parts of this site behave, though the core content and enquiry forms will still work.

5. Changes to this policy

I may update this Cookie Policy if the cookies used on this website change — for example, if I connect a new analytics or business tool in future. The latest version will always be published here with an updated revision date.
