Audio Cassettes
The standard tape most people have. Home recordings, interviews, music, messages, sermons, sessions.
VHS Tapes
Recorded television, home movies, weddings and christenings recorded to video in the 1980s and 90s.
CD-Rs and DVD-Rs
Home-burned discs degrade over time, whatever their age — a disc that played fine a few years ago can start to skip or stop reading altogether. If yours has, I can usually recover what's on it.
Recordings you already have on a computer or phone
Files that are noisy, quiet, muffled or hard to make out. These can usually be improved too.

The voicemail you've never deleted
Most people have one. A message kept through two or three phones, moved carefully from one to the next, checked occasionally to make sure it's still there. Saved voicemails are more fragile than they look. They can be lost in a phone upgrade, a change of network, a repair, or a handset that simply stops working.
How I get it off your phone depends on the make and model — some let me export the file directly, others mean recording it cleanly as it plays. Either way, you end up with a proper file you can keep, back up and share with family, rather than something sitting on a phone company's system.
If it's already been deleted, I probably can't get it back. If it's still on your phone, it can be made permanent.

I listen, tell you straight what's there and what can be done, and agree the price in writing before anything starts.
3. Restoration
I clean it up and transfer it. Usually three to five days.
4. You get your recording back
Digital files you can keep, copy and share with anyone, anywhere. Your original comes back to you.
How pricing works
There's no fixed rate, because the work varies enormously — a single voicemail is a different job from a box of twenty cassettes that have sat in a shed since 1987. Rather than guess at you, I'd rather listen first.
That's what the free assessment is for. I'll tell you what's there, what can be done, and exactly what it will cost — agreed with you before anything starts. No surprises afterwards, and no obligation to go ahead.
The price I quote is the price you pay. Nothing is added on.

What can and can't be saved
Most recordings I'm handed can be recovered. Age on its own rarely ruins a cassette, and a saved voicemail is either there or it isn't — the free assessment tells you which, in a minute or two.
Some can't be saved. Tape that's been stored somewhere damp for years, or a voicemail already deleted from the network — sometimes the honest answer is there's nothing left to work with.
I won't know until I've listened, and I'm not going to ask you to pay to find out. If it can't be saved, I'll tell you straight, and it costs you nothing.

No. Drop-off and collection in Birr if that suits, or post it to me and I'll confirm the moment it arrives. Recordings come to me from Tullamore, Banagher, Kinnitty, Roscrea, Nenagh, Portlaoise, Athlone and across Co. Offaly and North Tipperary — and tapes are posted from all over Ireland.
If you already have digital files or a voicemail, you can send them online.
